Pi-hole and AdGuard Home

Connect Pi-hole v6 or AdGuard Home to the Ad blocking (DNS) widget.

The Ad blocking (DNS) widget shows whether ad blocking is on, today's queries and blocked share, the last 24 hours and the most blocked domains, clients and queried domains. An administrator can pause blocking (5 min, 30 min, 1 h or until resumed) and resume it.

Connect a server

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Ad blocking (DNS).
  2. Choose Pi-hole or AdGuard Home and give the connection a name.
  3. Pi-hole v6: enter its address and an application password (Pi-hole → Settings → Web interface / API → Configure app password). AdGuard Home: enter its address, user name and password.
  4. Turn on Accept a self-signed certificate only for a server you own that uses one.
  5. Save, then test the connection from the same page.

Several servers can be saved. Each widget reads the first one by default; pick another in its settings. Connections are added and edited only in Settings → Integrations; the widget dialog links there.

Styles

Bars (default): figures and the day as hourly bars, the blocked part at the foot of each. Chart: figures and a curve with exact values under the pointer. Ring: the blocked share. Compact: the share and a proportion line. Complete: ring, figures, chart and top lists, side by side when the widget is wide.

Figures shown chooses the figures of the Bars, Chart, Ring and Complete styles: total queries, blocked queries, blocked share, listed domains and active clients. Each style keeps its own defaults until you choose.

Access

Top clients and queried domains reveal activity on your network. Visitors only see the widget when their account has the Ad blocking (DNS) permission (Settings → Users and access). The server address and credentials never leave the NasDash server. The public demo shows fictional figures.
