FAQ

Short answers to the most common configuration decisions.

Should I mount the Docker socket in NasDash?

No. Mount it read-only in docker-socket-proxy, then connect NasDash to the proxy.

Which Docker URL should I use?

http://docker-proxy:2375 within the same Compose. For a different host, use a protected private IP, ideally via VPN, and filter the source.

Where do I find the Tailscale "key" for the widget?

Create an OAuth client in the Tailscale admin console. The widget does not use an enrollment auth key. See Tailscale.

Can I use NasDash without a domain?

Yes, via http://SERVER_IP:2504 on the LAN or the Tailscale IP. A domain is mainly useful for HTTPS reverse proxy and access convenience.

Can I change the port?

Yes. Change the host port on the left, for example 8088:2504; keep the container port 2504.

Where are the data stored?

In /app/data, mounted from ./data by default. A named volume nasdash-data is an optional alternative.

Is Home Assistant supported?

Historical traces exist in some internal types, but the current device addition interface does not offer it. This documentation therefore does not present it as a supported user integration.
