Restoration

Restore a full backup to a bind mount or a named volume.

It is recommended to restore using the same image version, and then perform the update separately.

Bind mount

  1. Stop NasDash.
  2. Rename the current directory to preserve it.
  3. Extract the archive into the directory mounted at /app/data.
  4. Ensure the files are accessible to the UID/GID 1001.
  5. Restart and verify /api/health.

Named volume

After confirming that the target is nasdash-data:

docker compose stop nasdash
docker run --rm \
  -v nasdash-data:/target \
  -v "$PWD:/backup:ro" \
  alpine sh -c 'cd /target && tar -xzf /backup/nasdash-data.tar.gz'
docker compose start nasdash

Then verify administrator login, viewers, services, integrations, and logos. If secrets can no longer be decrypted, the backup was incomplete or the persistent keys were replaced.
