Get started
First Startup
Initial connection, account security, and initial configuration.
1. Check Container Status
docker compose ps
docker compose logs --tail 100 nasdashWait for the healthy status, then open http://SERVER_ADDRESS:2504 on your private network.
2. Log In as Administrator
- Use the
NASDASH_ADMIN_PASSWORDpassword you selected; - Or retrieve the generated password from the logs;
- Never assume the password is
admin: this is not the current behavior of a fresh installation.
3. Secure Accounts
In Settings > Security & Users:
- Verify the
adminandvieweraccounts; - Replace any temporary passwords;
- Choose the public or private mode;
- Restrict the viewer to the necessary tabs and widgets;
- Log in again if changing your own password revokes the session.
4. Configure Local Docker
In the Docker tab, add:
Nom Docker local
Adresse / Hôte Docker docker-proxy
Port API Docker 2375If NasDash and the proxy do not share the same Compose network, this name will not work. Use the corresponding scenario in Remote Docker Hosts.
5. Replace Sample Data
Delete or modify the sample services, devices, and topology elements from the interface. The addresses included in the sample files do not represent any real infrastructure to contact.
6. Create a Reference Backup
Back up the functional state before adding Tailscale, Proxmox, or Glances secrets. This provides you with a clean rollback point.
