Local Development
Prepare a reproducible checkout and avoid production data.
Installation
git clone https://github.com/lucas-lepajollec/nasdash.git
cd nasdash
npm ci
cp .env.example .env
npm run devBy default, the development server listens only on http://127.0.0.1:2499. To test it from another device on a trusted local network:
npm run dev:lanThen use the network address displayed by Next.js. The product uses Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript; the official container is based on Node.js 22.
Isolating Data
By default, the local server uses data/. For experimental work, set NASDASH_DATA_DIR to a dedicated disposable folder. Relative values are resolved from the project directory.
Never use a production folder for interface testing or E2E scripts. The official browser suite uses .e2e/data, port 2510, and isolated credentials.
Development Integrations
For Docker, run a dedicated and restricted socket proxy. Do not mount the Docker socket directly into the NasDash process. For other integrations, use read-only accounts and test hosts.
