Using NasDash
Docker View
Hosts, containers, logs, images, volumes, and available actions.
The Docker view uses a socket proxy and never mounts /var/run/docker.sock directly into NasDash. Once a host is added, the administrator can view containers, their logs, images, and volumes, and then execute the actions permitted by the proxy.
Adding a host
In the Docker settings, provide a name, an icon, and the proxy URL:
- Same Compose:
http://docker-proxy:2375; - Remote proxy via private network:
http://PRIVATE_IP:2375; - Proxy exposed over TLS by a dedicated gateway: its internal HTTPS URL.
The browser does not call the proxy directly. The URL must be reachable from the NasDash container.
Actual permissions
The screens can only perform actions permitted by the proxy variables. POST=1 enables state changes, for example. DELETE=1 enables deletions and should remain disabled unless explicitly decided. Consult Docker and proxy before any remote exposure.
