Using NasDash
Network and Topology
Map devices, groups, links, IPs, and ports.
The Network view allows you to draw a manual topology: nodes, groups, and connections. A node can contain a name, a type, an icon, an IP address, a list of ports, and a link to a monitored device.
This map serves as interactive documentation; it does not replace an automated inventory or a security scanner. Before publishing NasDash, verify that authorized readers can actually view the recorded addresses and ports.
Best Practices for Structuring
- One group per trust zone or location;
- One node per machine or network device;
- One connection per useful dependency;
- Ports only when they serve diagnostic or operational purposes.
The topology is removed from responses intended for readers who should not have access to it.
