Bookmarks

One library of links and folders, shared by every Bookmarks widget.

The Bookmarks widget shows your links sorted in folders, which can hold folders. The library is saved once, in Settings → Widgets → Bookmarks, and every Bookmarks widget reads it; each widget can open it at a chosen folder.

Build the library

  • + Link and + Folder open a short form: name, address and optional note for a link, and the folder it sits in. The square left of the name is the icon: the site’s own logo by default, or an emoji or symbol you pick.
  • The + of a folder adds a link directly inside it.
  • Deleting a folder moves what it holds up one level, where the folder was; the confirmation also offers to delete it with its content.
  • Drag a row by its grip: drop it before or after another row (it joins that row’s folder), or on the middle of a folder to put it inside.
  • Import reads the bookmarks file every browser exports (Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, Safari: Export bookmarks as HTML). Folders are kept; only web addresses (http, https) are imported, up to 500 items and eight folder levels.

In edit mode, links and folders also move by drag and drop inside the widget, including onto a path segment to take them out of a folder. Changes apply to every Bookmarks widget.

Site icons

NasDash fetches each saved site’s icon once (the sharpest one the site announces) and keeps it in its data folder. Only addresses saved in the library are fetched, whatever a request asks.
