Integrations

Immich and PhotoPrism

Connect Immich or PhotoPrism to the Photos widget with a read-only key.

The Photos widget shows pictures from your Immich or PhotoPrism library as a slideshow, a grid, a mosaic of mixed sizes or a sideways strip. A click opens the photo large, with its date and place; arrows and the keyboard move through the selection.

Connect a library

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Photo libraries.

  2. Choose Immich or PhotoPrism and give the connection a name.

  3. Enter the library address (for example https://photos.example.com).

  4. Immich: in Immich, open Account settings → API keys → New API key, untick All permissions and tick only:

    PermissionUsed for
asset.readFinding photos (random, recent, favorites, on this day)
    asset.viewThumbnails and previews
album.readListing albums and reading the chosen one
memory.readImmich memories, for “On this day”

Leave out a permission whose mode you do not use. No create, update, delete, upload or download permission is needed: NasDash only reads, and never fetches originals. The key sees the library of the account that created it (and albums shared with it), so a dedicated account narrows what can appear.

  5. PhotoPrism: create an app password (PhotoPrism → Settings → Account → Apps and devices) and paste it.

  6. Enable Accept a self-signed certificate only for a server you own that uses one, save, then test the connection.

Privacy

Photos pass through the NasDash server: the library address and key never reach the browser, and a photo is served only through the widget that listed it. The link to open a photo in the library is shown to administrators only. Viewers see the widget only with the Photos permission (Settings → Users and access). The public demo shows generated landscapes.
